Economic Justice
|
Never doubt that a small group
of
thoughtful, committed citizens can
change the world:
Indeed its the only thing
that ever has. - Margaret Mead
The Economic
Justice Initiative will meet periodically to develop a plan to further expand the community service opportunities offered through FUS. This will be a time for people who have been engaged in the various service projects to connect with other like-minded folks and determine in what ways the Economic Justice Initiatives may expand at FUS. Please come with your ideas!
Ongoing programs
focus on homelessness, eviction prevention, and hunger issues in the Madison
area.
The Economic Justice Initiative is working in the following areas:
- The Road Home’s Interfaith Hospitality Network
Family Shelter Program providing meals and overnight support at Christ
Presbyterian Church, four weeks per year.
- Serving
meals monthly at the Grace Episcopal Porchlight Men's Shelter: serving
meals monthly
- Eviction prevention
and related direct-service assistance to needy individuals and families in
the Madison area supported through the generosity of this congregation. (Contact Erich Pitcher for more information)
