“Let brotherly love continue

Be not forgetful to entertain strangers;

For thereby some have entertained strangers unawares.”

Help serve healthy meals to homeless men who are housed at three downtown shelters. FUS members and friends serve Saturday dinner and Sunday breakfast on the third weekend of each month at the Grace Episcopal Men's Shelter, 116 West Washington Avenue . Volunteer responsibilities include purchasing and preparing food, transporting supplies to the Shelter, and serving the meals. Volunteers also assist Shelter staff with clean-up. Food purchases may be donated by volunteers or may be reimbursed through the meal funds of the Economic Justice Committee.

Porchlight Program:

The Porchlight program coordinates services for homeless people in Dane County.  Their mission is to decrease the homeless population by empowering participants to positively shape their lives.  The number of men who are sheltered each night by the program varies from 80 to 150.  A healthy meal is a key component of this effort.
