Don’t miss this free, one-time-only live performance of Nikkole Salter’s new play “Torn Asunder” on Monday, April 25, at 6:30 pm. If you attended last August’s First Friday Film discussion of the Zoom play “Lines in the Dust,” featuring its author, playwright Nikkole Salter, don’t miss this chance to see her new play, performed as a rehearsed reading, again on Zoom. Due to union regulations, the performance won’t be recorded, so this is the only chance to watch it. Click here for the link to viewing. Here is a synopsis:
Prince George’s County, MD, 1859.
Hannah, an enslaved woman, has her world rocked when her master dies and she, for the first time, is separated from her family, new husband, and baby. But, just as she begins to lose all hope to ever see her husband and child again, the seceded south falls to the Union, slavery is abolished with the 13th Amendment, and Hannah has the opportunity to put her family back together…if she can find them.
