Service Saturday

FUS’s Service Saturday this year will be Saturday, August 26. This is the day many of us gather to serve the surrounding community: getting our hands a little dirty, heads a little humble, and meeting folks beyond our westside haven. This year’s projects will feature a wide choice of opportunities from outdoor to indoor, labor to clerical, all for nonprofit organizations in our area. The day will culminate with a celebratory picnic in the Gaebler Living room and lawn, with great food and live music. Click here to learn more and sign up for this year’s service opportunities.

First Friday Film @ FUS

2018 marks the 50th anniversary of the passage of the Fair Housing Act. Yet, illegal housing discrimination is still common in Wisconsin and it harms all our communities. We will also learn about how we can get involved in this vital civil rights movement by volunteering for the Fair Housing Center. Supper will be served at 5:45. The program and film will start at about 6:15 pm. For the children, we will also be showing Zootopia!
