August 27 – The Waters of our Lives: Water Communion, 9 & 11 a.m.
Each year we use the symbolism of water in this UU ritual to remind us that we all come from water, we are made of mostly water, and just like the way water scatters into raindrops and streams, we oftentimes scatter during the summer months. The mingling of the waters from places we have been over the summer months symbolizes the mingling of our lives here in this community. We ask you to bring a small amount of water from a place sacred to you, whether you traveled to far, exotic locations, or whether it comes from a backyard rain barrel. As your water mingles with the water of others, we will be reminded of the many ways our lives are intertwined, here at home, and with the lives of people throughout the world.
