Good Friday, April 14 at 5 p.m. – Give Us Barabbas
All four of the Gospel accounts agree that when Pontius Pilate offers a Jewish crowd the opportunity to choose either Jesus or the “bandit” Barabbas for release, they clamor for the latter. On Good Friday we’ll explore a possible parallel between this ancient expression of populism and its rise in our own time. Musically, violinist Leyla Sanyer and pianist Dan Broner will play.
