September 16 & 17 – To Question, Truly, Is An Answer; 9 & 11 a.m.
In an earlier era, the Roman Catholic Church taught that it was downright sinful to ask questions – at least in matters of religion. That was a pretty hard rule to enforce for, as Harvard’s Harvey Cox has observed, “human beings might be defined as homo quaerens,” stubborn creatures who won’t be deterred from asking “why?” It can be a risky practice at times, but ultimately redemptive.
On Saturday, soprano Tamara Brognano, with pianist Linda Warren, will sing. On Sunday, musicians from the Mosaic Chamber Ensemble will play the musical offerings.
