Sunday, April 9 – All Music Sunday*
The Society Choir will be singing the magnificent “German Requiem” by Johannes Brahms. Based on the first performance in England, it will be sung in English and accompanied by piano four-hands. The Society Choir will be joined by our own soprano, Heather Thorpe, distinguished bass-baritone, Paul Rowe, and the renowned piano duo of Stanislava Varshavski and Diana Shapiro. Rev. Michael Schuler will also provide a preamble to this acknowledged masterpiece of the choral repertoire. You won’t want to miss this masterpiece of the choral canon. Performances at 10 a.m. and 3 p.m. See more here.
*Small Music Sunday
Be sure to not miss “Small Music Sunday” at 10 a.m. in the Landmark Auditorium! Held concurrently with the 10 a.m. performance of Brahm’s Requiem, Small Music provides a musical feast for younger children and their parents.
Our guest musician is a former first grade teacher, an award-winning musician, and comic entertainer. David’s music programs keep children engaged and constantly thinking. The kids sing some, move some, act some, dance some, shout just a little bit, and laugh a bunch. The adults just sit back and enjoy the show.
