Sunday, July 22 @ 9 & 11 am – “Who Put the Fun in Fundamentalism”
Fundamentalism is simple, natural, clear, and more than a little risky. It makes the complex easy, such as the meaning(s) of the Bible; it produces order in society by validating the principle of patriarchy and clarifying the confusion about sex and sexuality. “Me Tarzan; you Jane.” Thump! But can we live comfortably with this kind of authoritarian principle operating in our political and social arenas? I’m not so comfortable with fundamentalism, and I used to be one.
The musical offerings will be played by cellist Philip Delaquess.
