Sunday, July 29 @ 9 & 11 am – “Grace, Unitarian Universalism, and Cuttlefish”
Christianity understands grace to be the gift of God’s favor, freely given and extended to us despite our not deserving it. Without this unmerited gift, we would never attain eternal salvation. Unitarian Universalism leaves it up to individuals to ponder over theological notions like eternal salvation and, although our common language abounds with words like gratitude, blessings, and thanks, the word grace doesn’t come up too often. How might we, a faith community that concerns itself more with life than with afterlife, unpack the ideas of deserves and gifts as we reach to fulfill our potential as loving beings in the world? Also, cuttlefish.
Joe Harris will play music for solo guitar.
